Emily Phonhsongkham, 25
​
Emily is currently attending San Diego State University majoring in Sociology. She obtained her A.A. in Psychology and Sociology at Grossmont Community College.
With 20 years of experience as a traditional Lao dancer, she witnessed the hardships and dreamed of aiming higher for all traditional Lao dancers.
She envisions a future with a mirrored dance studio for her students, traveling to Laos for intensive Lao dance training, providing Lao workshops relevant to being a traditional Lao dancer and creating a welcoming environment to all.

Konthong Khisirivong, 24

Konthong, a Lao immigrant who's lived in the United States since 2007, recently graduated from San Diego State University as a Business Administration Major with a concentration in Real Estate. He wants to obtain a California Real Estate License to start his career in the real estate industry.
For our dance troupe, he develops and oversees our organization’s budget, aligning it with our goals. He provides administrative support to the board of directors and executive team. He also prepares and distributes minutes for board meetings and other official gatherings.
Lead Coordinator
Kaitlyn Phanhthaly, 21
Kaitlyn is currently attending San Diego Mesa College and majoring in nursing to pursue a career as a Nurse Practitioner. In addition to her studies, she is also the proprietor of a dessert business called Desserts By Lyn where she specializes in baking cakes and other desserts.

Kaitlyn has been a dancer in the Lao community for over 15 years. In 2023, she was crowned Miss Lao New Year 2nd Princess. She hopes to educate the new generations of the beauty and importance of Lao culture, so we receive the recognition we deserve.
Program Manager
Alice Xayavong, 25
​
Alice has been a member of Dok Kulap Sinlapakorn since our establishment in 2017, but has 15 years of dance experience.
​
She hopes to help generations of incoming dancers feel connected to their Lao culture and establish friendships as she did growing up.
​
Outside of the organization, she holds an MPH in Epidemiology from San Diego State University and currently works as a Research Evaluation Assistant.
